Welcome to my blog!
I am Allison. Former elementary school teacher and French instructor turned full-time translator,
culinary student, aspiring chef, and blogger. Born and raised right outside of Paris, France, but living in the Washington DC area, USA.
For now 6 years, I have been faced with several medical conditions. Starting with anxiety, allergies and OAS with anaphylaxis, infertility, depression, fibromyalgia, and the latest but hopefully the last, asthma.
Those have turned my life upside down and forced me to make radical adjustments to both my diet and lifestyle.
Join me on my constant journey to regain physical and mental health.
I am neither a doctor nor a chef, but I will share with you what I have learned throughout the years, including my allergy-friendly recipes.
All recipes are the fruit of my own cooking experiments and the application of the valuable knowledge I have gained from attending culinary school after work.
I try to cover a wide range of allergens, including the BIG 8, so my dishes can be safely enjoyed by many. That said, everyone is welcome regardless of food preferences, and you don’t need to have allergies to enjoy them.
I am also fluent in French and Spanish, and speak Brazilian Portuguese as well. So don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like any recipes or tips in one of these languages.
So, once again, welcome to my blog! I hope you find it helpful and, if you do, please share it! You will also find me on Instagram as @missallergist.
ENJOY YOUR VISIT AND BON APPÉTIT!
