All recipes posted here are developed by me. They have been made and tested multiple times at home with friends, coworkers, and most importantly family, before making it onto the blog.
All of my recipes are healthy and plant-based
Eating healthy has always been a bit of an obsession. As a kid, I had weight problems and had to follow a strict diet for 2.5 years to remedy that. Then I had to reassess what I ate because of my food allergies. I later became vegetarian for lack of money while going through a divorce. And finally, I became 94% vegan (=flexitarian) first for my health, after reading several studies on fibromyalgia and other illnesses, and second for the planet and ethical reasons.
It is scientifically proven that eating vegan reduces inflammation, lowers our risk of developing cancer and other illnesses, and gives us a better chance to save our planet. So you won’t find any meat, fish, egg or dairy in my allergy friendly recipes.
They are also free of other allergens.
Although most people are allergic to one or more of the most common allergens, also known as the ‘TOP 8’ or ‘BIG 8’, one can develop allergies to anything. It is therefore very important that you always check with your guests before serving them anything labelled as ‘allergy friendly’ or ‘allergy free’.
Among the TOP 8, I am allergic to eggs and have a dairy intolerance. However, I also react to less common allergens including : hops ; and raw apples, pears, peaches and nectarines, kiwis, cherries, honeydew melon, and plums. These last allergies are part of what allergists call the Oral Allergy Syndrome.
Although I do my best to post TOP-8 free recipes, most of the time, my allergy friendly recipes only cover some of the most common allergens.

Before following any of my recipes, please read the notes and list of ingredients carefully. They indicate which allergens were avoided and which ones are present in each dish.
What else ?
My husband and I strive to eat less processed food and more fresh ingredients, which reflects in my recipes. This is essential for our health, as well as to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet.
I make it a point to not waste food, so each recipe also mentions past recipes using similar ingredients in case you have leftovers and don’t know how to use them best.
I will be uploading new recipes little by little every other week. I try to keep it quick and easy for the most part, but you will also find a few recipes that are more time consuming.
Can you share your allergy friendly recipes in another language?
Each new recipe is posted in English and French, and I am gradually translating the previous ones into French. I also speak Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, so leave me a message if you would like a specific recipe in these other two languages.
